Community Excellence Awards
The Bitou Municipality is hosting the Community Excellence Awards. The objective of the awards is to celebrate, recognize and honour individuals and groups who have made significant contribution to the community.
Members of the community within Bitou Local Municipality are invited to nominate individuals and/or groups whom they think have contributed greatly to the town in the following categories:
CONTRIBUTION TO HEALTH MATTERS AWARD: Honours NGOs or individuals primarily responsible for saving lives or improving the quality of live in the community.
CONTRIBUTION TO EDUCATION AWARD: Honours an individual who excels at promoting best practice education.
SPORT LEGEND AWARD: To Honours an individual who has achieved outstanding performance or overcame personal obstacles and in this way contributed fundamentally to sport in the community.
BUSINESS LEGEND AWARD: Honours an individual or company for their contribution to the growth of overall investment potential in the community.
COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARD: To honour an individual whose performance is considered exemplary by the community and peers.
YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD: Honours an individual young person who contributed to the development of youth in the community.
HUMAN RIGHTS AWARD: Honours and individual who through their determination and dedication has contributed to human rights in the community.
SPORTS PERSON AWARDS: Honours an individual for outstanding sports achievement.
ARTS LEGEND AWARD: To honour an individual for outstanding achievement in creating, fostering and supporting arts and culture in the community.
CHAMPION OG WOMEN RIGHTS AWARD: To honour a women who through her determination and dictation has contributed to women’s rights in the community.
Nomination forms are obtainable from Bitou Local Municipality offices and/or libraries at Kranshoek, Kwanokuthula, New Horizons, Bossiesgif/Qolweni, Melville’s Centre, Green Valley, Kurland and the Main Administrative Building in Sewell Street. The forms can also be accessed from our website: www.bitou.gov.za. Nominations should include a covering letter with justification from the nominator, as well as the curriculum vitae (for individuals a letter of consent from the nominee).
