Kwanokuthula Taxi Rank opened

Kwanokuthula Taxi Rank officially handed over to Uncedo Taxi Association.
KwaNokuthula Taxi Rank was pack to capacity not by the people were traveling but by the residents who attended the official opening of the recently build taxi rank which is rated as the most beautiful taxi rank in the country.
This event was attended by national chairperson of Uncedo Taxi Association Mr. V. Phelemon, Bitou executive mayor Lulam Mvimbi, Depute Mayor Monica Seyisi, Cllr Dorisi Xhego and other top officials from Bitou municipality.
Mr. Lose the Taxi Association spokesperson had gave the background of the taxi industry in Plett where he took us back to the days whereby they were driving small cars that were popularly known as amaphela parking them under trees in Bosiesgif as there was no taxi rank.
When they moved to KwaNokuthula they had to drive around till they invaded land that was belonging to St Johns till municipality identify the land that had taxi rank now they only put drivel and toilet which cause many disagreement although he gave the compliment to the municipality leaders for being patient and demonstrate good leadership skills during those days of negotiations as Ncedo avoided to settle for second best till they manage to get the taxi rank which its budget is 100% funded by Bitou municipality the taxi association is happy and satisfied by the standard of their taxi rank said Mr. Lose.
The National Chairperson of Uncedo had also express how happy they are with what has been done by Bitou municipality hoping that all the municipalities will learn out of this initiative, he also suggested that there must be a forum that will involve all the stakeholders to create a working partnership between the community and taxi drivers a move that was also supported by Lulama Mvimbi who took on stage what become to be his slogan or signature tune that goes like this “ Eita Bitou Eita” before he said Taxi industry is the only industry that is only started black people.
He reminded people about their rights that come with responsibility as he encourages them to take good care of the taxi rank.
